MÜNCHEN, GERMANY

The land of poets and thinkers, "Das Land der Dichter und Denker," historically known as Germany is where I'm going to be taking you guys today.Munich is the capital of Bavaria state & is the third largest city in Germany.

#travelwithsumeira

It's not just Munich, but the entire Europe's architecture is mind-blowing.The famous Marienplatz was a 10-minute walk from my hotel. It is a famous square centrally located in Munich.

Rathaus Glockenspiel

New city hall is a famous tourist spot where you can find Virgin Mary atop the Mariensäule(Marian column at Marienplatz).

Virgin Mary atop the Mariensäule

To enjoy this view and place, you can grab something to eat or drink in the street cafe opposite to Neues Rathaus New town hall at Marienplatz square named Hacker Pschorr(a brewery in Munich, famous for its Bavarian beer).

Hacker Pschorr Cafe

P.S. I'm not promoting alcohol.

The best part of staying near Marienplatz was that the grand station was exactly opposite hence I didn't have to worry about taking transport to the metro station. Also, there are a lot of restaurants as you walk towards New town hall.

We still all scream for ice cream :p

There are few souvenir shops and clothing brands as well to shop.Since it was a weekend all the shops were closed except the restaurants.

Monkeys!!

The weird is me!!

If at all you want to get entertained just keep walking and you'll get amazed in every 5 minutes. Some of the examples are here⬇

Get sketched!!

Couldn't avoid this toddler as he just wanted to play with the pigeons & of course feed them.

Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the BMW Museum.I know it's sad, but there's always 'next time.'

Blame the rain!

However, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Munich, especially to Marienplatz. The walk to this place is genuinely entertaining & the place is very lively.I recommend visiting this place in summers as you can savor the sun.

I've still got one awe-inspiring destination left before we enter the winter. So stay tuned for the next blog.Safe travels!!

TO CASABLANCA, MORROCCO

Stay Wild Child!

My geography was never great until I became a cabin crew.Later I was enlightened about the central northern & southern parts of Africa.

Today I will talk about the northern part, a beautiful country called Morrocco.I visited the city Casablanca & was blown away by its beauty.

I was put up in a hotel near Ain Diab, a famous spot to hang out & also a famous beach.Due to time constraint, I couldn't cover all the places however I've got some excellent places to recommend.

At breakfast with my friend

After we landed in the evening, we had one & a half day to explore this city.We headed off straight to a restaurant Le Basmane at Ain Diab for dinner. My good friend accompanied me to this restaurant where we ordered Chicken Tagine which is a Moroccan entree.
Chicken Tagine

There were few amazing belly dancers(yaaaassss I said belly dancers)who blew everyone's mind (especially men Ohh Hooo oo) with their killer moves while we have a bite.Best time to visit: evening hours & you'll spend a minimum of 200 to 250 MAD drinks excluded.

Rise N Shine: Next day we hired a car opposite our hotel( local driver in 250 MAD for a day) to show us around the city.We went to this beautiful Mosque called Hassan II Mosque. It's the 13th largest mosque with the world's tallest (210 meters) minaret on this planet which can accommodate a maximum of 105000 worshippers (25000 inside the mosque & 80000 on the mosques outside grounds). The mosque stands on a headland with a view of Atlantic ocean right ahead. So practically you pray over the sea without a glass sealing beneath you(still fascinating isn't it?).THIS MOSQUE IS THE ONLY MOSQUE WHERE NON-MUSLIMS ARE ALSO ALLOWED INSIDE DURING PARTICULAR TIMINGS OF THE DAY SO DON'T MISS IT.
Hassan II Mosque

Tallest Minaret in the world.

Next, we went to a place from where we could see this mosque from afar.To see the view of the Atlantic ocean alongside the mosque was phenomenal.
The Walk that I still remember!

View of the mosque & the ocean.

The View

After spending some time there, we left to take a tour of this city.We saw the palace of Saudi king & the most expensive residential area & trust me all of it was worth watching.Later we went to the local market in the old town to buy some Moroccan oil & to our surprise, we found some beneficial spices which heal certain ailments.
Ain Diab Street

I wish I could go to Marrakesh, anyways later we spent some time at the Ain Diab street which has more restaurants & cafes with the Atlantic ocean right in front of you.

Atlantic Ocean

We visited this city in the month of March which is a pleasant time. You'll experience cold breeze & by evening the temperature becomes a little cold, but still, it's pleasant.

All good things come to an end & so did our trip too, but I do wish to explore other cities as well. But I know one thing for sure that I'll be speaking about another spectacular town in South Africa...any guesses?? Until then I'll see you in my next travel!
Safe travels everyone!!

CERVICAL SCREENING #NOFEARGOSMEAR

Cabin crew..Life above 36000 ft Part 1 https://sumeirasufiya.blogspot.com/2017/05/cabin-crewlife-above-36000-ft-part-1.html spoke about some serious health issues that women go through, but is it enough to only discuss it? We all know that anyone is susceptible to cancer (in any form) nowadays.
Cabin crew is a largely female dominated profession with many women in the high-risk age range of 25-35 for cervical cancer. We’d like to reach as many female cabin crew as possible to help spread the word and prevent cervical cancer. Some things you may not know about cervical cancer:

Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in women under the age of 35
Over half a million women are diagnosed with the disease globally each year
Cervical Cancer can be prevented with a simple screening test
A screening test can detect abnormalities up to 10 years before they develop into cancer
The test takes no more than 10 minutes
If every woman was screened cervical cancer would almost certainly be eradicated
Read my story here---> https://cervicalscreen1.wordpress.com

We all have busy lives and let's be honest the test can be quite daunting at first but the benefits far outweigh any doubts you may have. However, the test is as easy as it is to read about it, yes there is discomfort for sure but no pain as such.A 10-minute procedure is not at all comparable to neither a normal delivery nor the regular menstrual pain.Check out the survey carried by @cervical screening on ‘WHAT IT REALLY FEELS LIKE?’ & you’ll get an idea about it. https://cervicalscreen1.wordpress.com/2017/06/05/so-what-does-it-really-feel-like/
As for some airlines, it is a necessity to undergo cervical screening or give a report if already done in 3 years of span.I really hope that every airline incorporates this test as a compulsion for female cabin crew in their medical test requirement.

We all know that as a woman our body goes under a lot, from hormonal changes to delivering a baby, in fact, this topic is of huge discussion in the aviation sector as many young female cabin crew have suffered due to cervical cancer & none of us want it to happen to anyone. After few years of flying our body starts to show how have you been taking care of it, therefore, we all encourage each other to get the cervical screening done.

A person is never too busy for anything, it’s all about priorities. We all want to be healthy & in the best shape possible but a good appearance from outside is not enough, therefore, getting a cervical screening is necessary to stay healthy from within as well for an overall healthy appearance.Being a cabin crew & dealing with health issues may seem like a curse but it’s in our hands whether or not to take precautions, not to forget ‘prevention is better than cure’.

The message is clear, whether you fly for a living or not, cervical screening can save your life, what better encouragement do you need!

BALI BALI BALI

I cannot say enough good things about this amazing place.I did complete justice to my vacation by planning my trip here. This place will certainly grow on you.

Just put parties, serene beaches, shopping, the adrenaline rush of water sports, other activities, beautiful temples, waterfalls, coffee plantations & much more into a grinder & imagine what the outcome would be.....THAT'S BALI!

I know you guys will enjoy the pictures & videos more than my write up.So come explore Bali with me...

A getaway with my lovely fiancé got me to Bali where we cleared immigration(Visa for Indians is free, you don't need to take any document from the airport or anywhere else) & was received by a personnel who handed us the final itinerary with a local sim card. (personnel from the company that my travel agent & also a family friend booked our reservation for all the activities & stay as well, it was worth the investment made by Mr Amit Pacheriwala who planned the itinerary according to my wish, for more details visit http://www.tridentholidays.in/ )

We then checked into Sofitel hotel in Nusa Dua, a luxurious & an amazing property with of course its private beach (Check out my video of my entire tour on my youtube channel). In the meanwhile look at this gorgeous property.

   Day 1 - BALI COLLECTION

Since we landed in the afternoon we rested & left for the market in the evening followed by dinner. This place is 20 mins away from Sofitel. You can use a rented bike or book a cab or walk to this place. We preferred to walk & trust me you'll do the same if you stay here.As we were walking towards this market we were taking in the scenic beauty of the beach.

This place has almost everything for everyone, from souvenir shops to sportswear, salons, some designer labels, great restaurants, live music, etc.
P.S. Don't take ladies with you if you don't want to get bankrupt..just kidding!

Day 2 - Water-sports & Bali Hai Sunset Dinner Cruise

We are too intelligent, so we thought of combining water sports with our cruise dinner so that we get day 3 off to explore Bali on our own (just kidding it was suggested by our driver & that's what we did).

Our package had scuba diving & snorkelling but we added flying board & parasailing as well.Of course, a GREAT DECISION!

TRADITIONAL BALINESE ATTIRE WORN BY THE LADY WHO WELCOMED US AT THE CRUISE.

Soon after we were done with our water sports activities we stopped by an Indian restaurant "Queens of India" for our lunch.
I can't say anything bad about food especially Indian.

Welcome drink!

Later we rushed back to the hotel to get ready for our SUNSET CRUISE DINNER.To our surprise, there were some performances which were really entertaining.Overall it was a 2 and a half or nearly 3-hour programme at the cruise. We started at 1800 & came back by 2100.

Day 3 - Exploring Bali

We left by nine in the morning to visit Coffee plantation, Bali Art Souvenir, Batuan Temple, Tegenungan Waterfall & lastly Tanah Lot temple.

Coffee plantation - I must say I was pretty amazed by this place.I drank 7 different types of tea & 7 types of coffee purely made in that plantation. It was definitely not the regular tea or coffee that we drink in our daily lives.it tasted really nice.

WAITING FOR TEA & COFFEE TASTING!

Luwak coffee is named after this animal Luwak. His best poop is collected & then garnished & processed to get this coffee. The food that he eats in the plantation gets fermented in his digestive track naturally..For more details check my youtube channel.https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf8j1bIkAPnSNy368_eXiJA

Place where processing takes place of the coffee.

After our much informative tour of this plantation, we went to Bali Art Souvenir Shop located near to this plantation from where we got some great Balinese stuff. As the name suggests it had souvenirs, clothes, home decor, handmade Balinese bags, Balinese Tea/Coffee, Soaps, creams & the list is endless. And we shopped like crazy.

Bali Art Souvenir

Next stop was Batuan Temple locally referred as Pura Puseh Ian Pura Desa Adat Batuan. It's a focal landmark in the village known as Batuan, known for its traditional Balinese paintings & art.The Hindu & Indian influence in the region is pretty evident from the carvings of this temple.

BATUAN TEMPLE

The most notable landmark in the village is Pura Puseh, an ancient structure of 11th century. The pillar that you see is a Throne shaped shrine dedicated to the supreme god.The depiction includes a Bhoma head overlooking the main gateway, Lord Vishnu astride a bull, great elephants on the central stairway & Lord Shiva standing amongst the skulls.

PURA PUSEH

Since I'm a water baby I was drawn towards Tegenungan Waterfall. This place is a paradise for every romantic person or a nature lover as well. This attraction also has a viewing point to the jungle & the waterfall at the main entrance.

PICTURE POINT!

Our final attraction was Tanah Lot Temple."Tanah Lot" means "Land in the Sea".The temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously for years by the ocean tide.It is one of the seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. At the base of this island, venomous sea snakes are believed to guard this temple from evil spirits & intruders.

Pura Batu Bolong is another Temple near Tanah Lot.

Our day ended with an amazing dinner with an amazing view.We went to Rockbar in Ayana Resort & Spa.This place is a must to visit if you are in Bali. But make sure to book your reservation at least 2 days prior(you'll know why).Just google this place & you'll see how it looks in the day.

Day 4 - White Water River Rafting in Ayung River

Adrenaline rush alert!!! An extremely adventurous day as we did rafting in Ayung River. (For videos head over to my channel).Let me warn you, there's a lot of walk involved so do your cardio one day prior.

Day 5 - Kuta And Sofitel Beach
KUTA BEACH
LEARN SURFING

We left for Kuta in the late afternoon as we were coping with the muscle pain from rafting. We rented a bike & rode to Kuta.I sat on the bike after a millennium.

This beach has a lot of activities & is slightly more crowded as it's a public beach. The suitable tides of Indian Ocean (depends on the season) serves a good place to learn surfing, which you'll find a lot on this beach.
We left for our hotel after experiencing a good relaxing time at our hotel's beach.

Day 6 - Adios Bali

With a heavy heart, we left for the airport but I also learnt that I reached up to 1K followers on Instagram which made me really happy, don’t judge, it’s a happy moment for me (Instagram: @sumeira_sufiya).There were so many places that we wanted to go but due to limited time, we couldn't, however, there's always a 'next time'.

I hope that you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed making it.DO MAKE SURE TO VISIT MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf8j1bIkAPnSNy368_eXiJA
